The part that happens between shots

I pursued golf because I was in the thick of raising lots of little babies and I wanted to try something new and outside of my comfort zone that was JUST for me! I fell in love with being out in the Florida sun, getting into community with supportive girlfriends, and let’s be real — the cute golf outfits sold me for good.

The supportive community is the best part of The Slice Girls! EVERYONE gets a seat at the table, and there is no gate-keeping here. I’m glad my mediocre golf game has been accepted with open arms. What I lack in skill I hopefully make up for with comedic relief!!

Setting the scene here: We are all wearing our cutest outfits, we step up and swing, we each SMACK it straight to the green and all of my fellow Slice Girls cheer in excitement with me. Champagne pops in the distance. That is the dream!

What got me into golf was just having time to myself away from responsibilities and to just be able to relax. What keeps me coming back is telling myself that it is important to put me first sometimes so that I can be better for everybody else.

My favorite part about being a Slice Girl is all the different women I have met from all walks of life and their genuine kindness and interest to get to know each other.

Since I’m still pretty new at golf and don’t know much about it, the outfit is definitely most important to me at this time.

My husband loves golf and one day out of the blue I asked him to teach me. Of course he said NO! At first, then one day he said okay I'm ready to teach you. He took me to Wedgewood in Grand Island, FL and I have been hooked every since. Other than boating and fishing its one of my favorite outdoor activities.

My favorite part of being a Slice Girl is the togetherness it brings for women of all stages. We can help each other, learn from each other and fellowship with each other where some of us may not get the chance to do so in our busy schedules of life.

For me, I love a great round of golf because it makes me feel more confident in the learning process and keeps me wanting more. However, looking cute while doing so.... well that and the 19th hole are just added bonuses!
